Liz Souter was a very talented basketmaker, her baskets are truly works of art.

To make this catalogue we searched far and wide to bring together some of Liz's best works. Over the many years that she was basketmaking her works brought joy to many – whether they were given as gifts to friends and family or created on commission, and as such had spread far and wide across Australia.

The baskets featured in the catalogue found their way to an abandoned bacon factory in Ballarat where we photographed each and every one. From there began the arduous process of cleaning up the images, masking out the backgrounds, designing and compiling the catalogue.

Even though it was a lot of hard work, this was a really rewarding and memorable process. It was a rare foray out of the digital realm for me, and was really nice to make something that you could actually hold in your hands. Even though I learned the hard lesson that unlike a website, you can't fix spelling mistakes on the front page of a book once it is printed!
